First Blog Post

Susan Comer is  reluctant designer based in Liverpool. Reluctant is the key word as she is hesitant to associate herself with fashion designers as Susan's love and passion for creating new things comes from the heart , not the desire to make big bucks.

Susan is clearly a homebody, her family is her most important thing in life and she has created and and nurtured the fabrics of her designs, just like she did with her three children.

Sitting in her Central Liverpool art studio, it is clear how Susan can not be pigeonholed into something she isn't. Completely individual, she holds a refreshing, almost bohemian take on life. Her moto for life is borrowed from a great leader, Winston Churchill, 'never ever give up'. It's clear how these four little words have shown her dedication and passion for her art.

A self confessed old hippy, She creates a sense of  'Original Reconstruction' in a world where things new things are massed produced and the old things are merely long forgotten. Susan, as I stated before is a rather modest designer, she doesn't claim to be a fashion designer or part of the fashion world. She somehow, rather magically, juxtaposes two worlds together. It's the old, ageing fabrics of yesteryear mixed with new designs, added fabrics and a touch of personality  that gives the garments a new lease of life.

Whilst alot of people may find their buzz in handing a credit card over the counter, to receive new things, Susan simply creates her buzz by making something new and original, that no one, not even herself will be able to create again. And that is, Original Reconstruction.
